Raising funds for a new Play Park at the Army Flying Museum
The Army Flying Museum’s play area has delighted visitors and local residents for around 14 years. Sadly, our play equipment has become outdated over the years so now is the perfect time for the Museum to re-new and improve the equipment for our young visitors and especially those with accessibility needs, which is one of the most important priorities for this development.
The play park is well used by approximately 80,000 visitors a year, which consist of around 48,000 museum visitors, 7,000 visitors to the Wallop Wheels & Wings event, 5,000 school groups and approx. 20,000 café only users.
We are passionate about creating a new play area that will provide increased physical activity for young people, easier access to themed-play equipment to all our visitors as well as locals from the local military accommodation and surrounding villages. The imaginative play that this play area will provide will help encourage further engagement with the heritage of Army aviation.
We’re currently applying for grants to help towards developing the new play park and have already received a £20,000 Community Asset Fund Grant. But we have a long way to go to reach our target of around £152,000.
If you would like to help us reach our target we welcome your donations of any amount, big or small. Please donate below. Thank you in advance for your support of the Army Flying Museum’s Play Park project.
