Brigadier (Retd) Nick Pounds RM

Nick Pounds was the commander of Monfortebeek Flight in 3 Commando Brigade Air Squadron during the Falkland Islands campaign and has recently authored a short book for the Royal Marines Historical Society, titled ‘A Small Cog’, relating the experiences of members of the flight. Having joined the Royal Marines in 1970. Nick served in two commando units and on loan service with the Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces prior to qualifying as a pilot at Middle Wallop in 1979. He went on the command 3BAS in 1991 and retired from the Royal Marines as a Brigadier in 2005.
